Biography

Stacy loves big strategic challenges - and is currently serving as a consultant to Hypothes.is, a non-profit internet knowledge start-up, while working on her PhD in the Energy & Resources Group at UC Berkeley.  Stacy's academic research focuses on near-term climate change science and mitigation policy, with an emphasis on short-term vs. long-term mitigation pathways.  She has recently been named a Switzer Fellow and has also been appointed to the Council of the American Geophysical Union (AGU).

Prior to graduate school and Hypothes.is, Stacy spent over a decade in corporate finance and strategy, most recently as a Finance Director for NIKE, Inc. Her passion for grappling with tough big-picture problems is one of the constant threads of her business and academic journey.

Stacy's academic training has been highly interdisciplinary, spanning the sciences, engineering, policy, and business.  She holds an MS in Energy & Resources from UC Berkeley (2008), an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School (2001), and a BSE in Operations Research from Princeton University (1994).
